The best known is the Ruhunu (Yala) National Park in the deep south of the Island.
The other parks are Sinharaja, Gal Oya, Udawalawe,
Wasgamuwa, Wilpattu and Horton Plains.
Elephants and
bird life are most commonly found in these parks.
Although Sri Lanka does not have Lions and Tigers, 4 species of Cats including Leopards can be seen in these National Parks. Other species commonly seen are Sloth Bears, Monkeys, Jackals, Wild boar, and many varieties of Deer.
